FRANQUIA

Franchise Responsibilities

Build from a Strong Foundation

MLB® The Show™ 25’s powerful Scout & Draft system gives you all the controls needed to construct the franchise of your dreams! It starts with hiring your scouts – each one has different attributes, the best ones command a larger salary, and the end goal is a well-balanced set of who can cover for each other’s weaknesses and unearth some diamonds in the run-up to the draft.

Next, you’re going to send those scouts to comb the ranks of amateur players.

Each Scout will have different abilities and aptitudes, and a great GM is able to get the best from them by playing to their strengths – whether those strengths are discovering overlooked gems, putting together accurate scouting reports quickly, or knowing their positional area of expertise better than anybody in the industry. Maybe you want them zeroing in on a specific player. Perhaps you want them to research the best options at one position in a region of the country. Early in the season, before the draft, you’ll set your Scouting plan every week.

Finally, Draft Day is here – but your work is far from over. Just like the real MLB draft, it’s not as simple as just picking the best-rated player. Do you target the finished college product, or the raw high school player with more potential? Will the player you ultimately choose accept a signing bonus a little bit below what they’re demanding, or will they shut you out and choose college ball over the slight? The right answers could yield championships, while the wrong ones likely give you some more experience with the Draft Lottery process.
